Aleksandra Krstić, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Department for Journalism and Communication, Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade. Her research interests are media and journalism studies, local media, media and migration, visual communication, conflict reporting, and media ethics. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in TV journalism and Investigative TV journalism, as well as News editing, Documentary TV, and Cultural and Media Policy of the EU. She authored the monograph “Media, Journalism and the European Union” (University of Belgrade, 2020) and many articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, including European Journal of Cultural Studies, European Journal of Communication, Media, War and Conflict, Problems of Post-Communism etc.
She has participated in many national and international research projects (MeCoDEM funded by the EU FP7 2014-2017, MIGREC funded by the EU Commission through HORIZON 2020 2018-2023, Journalistic Role Performance project) and was awarded by the University of Belgrade for the best scientific article in social science and humanities in 2018. Dr. Krstić has been intensively collaborating with civil society organizations, investigative reporting networks, and media organizations to improve professional and ethical journalism standards in the country. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a TV journalist for Mreža Production Group in Belgrade.
