Iskra Kirova is a senior policy analyst at the Open Society European Policy Institute, responsible for EU policy advocacy and analysis on Eastern Europe and Central Asia, EU foreign policy, as well as emerging challenges of disinformation and foreign interference.
Before joining OSF, Iskra worked for the International Crisis Group as EU advocacy and research analyst on conflict prevention and resolution in Europe and Asia. Previously, she served as fellow and research associate at the USC Center on Public Diplomacy in Los Angeles, publishing on issues of EU foreign policy, soft power, communication and disinformation, and conflict resolution. Iskra has worked for the European Commission foreign policy directorate on the European Neighbourhood Policy and for the NATO Parliamentary Assembly on security issues in Eastern Europe and beyond. Iskra has a master’s degree in International Relations from Sofia University in Bulgaria and a master’s in public diplomacy degree from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California. Iskra speaks Bulgarian, English, French, Russian and German.
