Johanna Deimel

Dr. Johanna Deimel received her Dr. rer. pol. in Political Sciences, Slavonic Studies and Economics from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.

She has been an independent analyst for Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans since March 2019. Deimel was Deputy Director of the Southeast Europe Association (Südosteuropa-Gesellschaft, SOG) from 1998 until March 2019. From February until October 2008, she served as Executive Officer / Chief of Staff at the International Civilian Office in Kosovo. Since 2020, Johanna Deimel has been a member of the Board of SOG as well as of the Council of Trustees of the Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development (KIPRED). She is author and (co-)editor of numerous books, policy papers and articles in German and international media.
