Katalin studied medicine in Budapest and health economics in the Netherlands before starting her political career at Momentum Movement, a fresh centre-progressive political party, established in 2017. She was one of the founding members of the party and later she became a candidate for the European Parliamentary elections in 2019. After taking up her mandate in the European Parliament, she was elected for the position of Vice-President of Renew Europe fraction.
Katalin is working actively as a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET), the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) and the Delegation for relations with the United States (D-US). She contributes as a substitute in the Committee on Regional Development (REGI), the Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT) and the Delegation to the EU-North Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee (D-MK). She plays an active role in the European Parliament’s Gender Mainstreaming Network, as well as in the Anti-Corruption Intergroup as a bureau member. Katalin also the chairs Renew Europe’s Working Group on Values and Democracy.
