Udo Jude Ilo

Senior fellow, Center for Civilians in Conflict and Founding Partner, Thoughts and Mace Advisory

Udo Jude Ilo has worked as a development practitioner for more than two decades. He is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC) and the Founding Partner at Thoughts and Mace Advisory, a policy firm focused on supporting third sector institutions and building knowledge and ideas that support the civic space and democratic practices in Africa. Udo works to support a framework of accountability and value system that allow for the primacy of citizens voices through his professional roles and writings as a social commentator. He is also a vocal commentator on the global order and the place of Africa. Udo has previously served as the Interim Executive Director at CIVIC and as Country Representative for the Open Society Foundations in Nigeria.  Udo has decades of experience in leading advocacy engagement across Africa, United States, United Nations, European Union, and United Kingdom.
