Secretary General of the Austro-French Centre for Rapprochement in Europe

Ambassador Hans Dietmar Schweisgut is the Secretary General of the Austro-French Centre for Rapprochement in Europe (CFA/ÖFZ) and a former Head of the European Union Delegation to China. He was Permanent Representative of Austria to the European Union before serving as the EU’s ambassador to Japan and then to the Republic of China. He joined the Austrian diplomatic service in 1977 and served at the United Nations in New York from 1979 to 1983.
