Nedžma Džananović Miraščija

Professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Sarajevo

Nedžma Džananović is one of leading Bosnian experts on diplomacy and the EU integration. A former diplomat, now full professor and researcher at the University of Sarajevo’s Faculty of Political Science. Also served as a Foreign Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (2004-2007) and as a Foreign Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2022. She authored five books, as well as many articles, research pieces, and policy briefs. She cooperates with major civil society organisations and think-tanks in BiH and internationally. Since 2017, she has been a member of the COST Expert Panel for the evaluation of research action proposals, assessment, selection, and approval of projects in the field of social sciences. She is a member of the editorial board of Teorija in praksa, an interdisciplinary academic journal for social sciences published by the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana. From 2017 to 2021, she served as a member of the Management Board of the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the capacity of an expert.
