Ruairi Nolan

Deputy Programme Director for Amnesty Tech

Ruairi Nolan is Deputy Programme Director for Amnesty Tech, part of Amnesty International, where he has worked on numerous investigations into the use of targeted surveillance against civil society, together with a team of technologists and human rights researchers. Prior to joining Amnesty International, Ruairi has over two decades experience working in human rights and peacebuilding. He has designed and developed support programmes for peacebuilding organisations in numerous countries, including Burundi, Pakistan, Central African Republic, Nigeria and Zimbabwe. He has a particular interest in the uses of technology for peacebuilding and human rights. He supported the development of a conflict early warning system in Burundi, as well the creation of an online dialogue platform that has convened hundreds of human rights and peacebuilding activists from around the world.
