Samir Huseinbašić is a seasoned civil servant in public administration and diplomat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, currently heads the Department of peace and security in the Sector for multilateral affairs. He has 26 years of experience of work in the governmental sector. His background is in national security policy and safety against disasters and other emergencies and before that he had worked in the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sector for protection and rescue, contributed to National security policy and development of a number of laws and regulations. He coordinates national implementation of UNSCR 1540 and implementation of EU and regional projects in domain of counter-proliferation of WMD and CBRN risk mitigation. Huseinbašić graduated defense and security at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the Sarajevo University and is a Doctor of Science of this University in security (international security, national security policy and reduction of security threats and risks).
