Ambassador Božena Forštnarič Boroje currently holds the position of Acting Director-General for Multilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia. Prior to her current appointment, she headed the International Organizations Department (2022-2023) and served as Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Poland as well as nonresidentially to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania (2018-2022). Ambassador Forštnarič Boroje began her diplomatic carrier within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2004, where she among others served as a head of Human Rights Department, International Law Department, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Ankara and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Canberra. Before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she worked at the Office of the Prime Minister (2003-2004) and at the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs (1999-2002). Ambassador Forštnarič Boroje holds a university and master degree in law from the Law Faculty of the University of Ljubljana.
