Dr Isabelle Ioannides is a Senior Policy Analyst in the European Parliament’s research service, where she is responsible for preparing ex-post evaluations of EU external action requested by parliamentary committees. She also designs and delivers trainings on parliamentary oversight, EU better regulation, and EU security and defence. From 2010-2014, she served as an Adviser in the European Commission President’s Bureau of European Policy Advisers. She covered EU foreign policy (global governance, regional cooperation, EU enlargement, and the southern neighbourhood policy) and engaged in the development of the EU’s strategic foresight capacity. Previously, she has consulted governments and international organisations (including NATO, UNDP, and the Council of Europe). In that capacity, she provided political analysis, training and programme management on rule of law reform, civilian protection and international humanitarian law, and on civil society capacity-building in post-conflict societies. In parallel, Dr Ioannides has worked in research and academia. Previous positions have included: non-resident Europe’s Futures fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences (Vienna); senior research associate at the Institute for European Studies and fellow in the Department of Political Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels; post-doctoral researcher at the Free University of Amsterdam and elsewhere.
