Amb. Dr István Szent-Iványi is Senior Fellow of International Relations and History Department at the Kodolányi János University, Budapest and Vice Chair of the Hungarian Atlantic Council. From 1990 to 2004, he was Member of Parliament in Hungary, holding different senior positions (Group Leader, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Chair of the European Integration Committee). During that time, Mr Szent-Iványi was State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2004 to 2009, he was a Member of the European Parliament, and then from 2010 to 2015 Ambassador of Hungary to Slovenia. After his diplomatic career, Dr Szent-Iványi focused on foreign policy analysis and lecturing on foreign and European policy at the Universities of Budapest. He was also the Chief of Foreign and European Policy Cabinet of the “Egységben Magyarországért” (United for Hungary) party alliance from 2021 to 2022. He is an author of two books and several publications, articles, essays in foreign policy and European policy issues in Hungarian and international journals, magazines, newspapers. Mr Szent-Iványi gained his PhD in historical anthropology at the ELTE University, Budapest.
