Manuel Sarrazin

Manuel Sarrazin is the German Federal Government Special Representative for the Countries of the Western Balkans since March 2022. Previously, he was a Member of the German Bundestag and Spokesperson for Eastern European Policy for the Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group. From 2009 to 2017, he was also Spokesperson and Ombudsperson for European Policy for the parliamentary group of Alliance 90/The Greens. Since 2012, Mr Sarrazin has been a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for European Politics, Vice President of the European Movement Germany since 2018, and President of the Southeast Europe Association since 2020. He studied History, Eastern European Studies and Law, first at the University of Bremen and subsequently at the University of Hamburg.
