Milan Filipović currently serves as the Research Director at the Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights (YUCOM). With over a decade of experience in various aspects of human rights, Milan specializes in access to justice, freedom of assembly, freedom of expression, independence of the judiciary, and the protection of human rights defenders. During his career, he has had the opportunity to represent victims of human rights violations before state authorities, the Constitutional Court, and international bodies. Milan is also known for his written contributions to the field. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications, reports, legal analyses, and commentaries on draft laws related to human rights and the rule of law. Milan has also been involved in educational programs focused on issues like anti-discrimination, hate speech, hate crimes, and trial monitoring. In collaboration with various domestic and international stakeholders, organizations, and professional bodies, Milan has worked on advocacy efforts that have contributed to the adoption of significant laws, including the Law on Free Legal Aid, the Law on the Protector of Citizens, and the Law on Referendum and People’s Initiative.
